Magnesium helps you fall asleep and stay asleep? Here's what the research says

How often do melatonin gummies help you fall asleep, but don’t help you stay asleep? How often do you take melatonin, and wake up 6 hours later, wishing you were still asleep? What if, instead of using melatonin to fall asleep, you used a magnesium supplement to help you fall asleep and stay asleep? That’s exactly what was studied in a 2022, in an article titled “Association of magnesium intake with sleep, duration, and sleep quality…”

What's magnesium?

Magnesium is an essential mineral that must be ingested and that the body needs in abundance. It’s something we all should take and all need, as it is the second most abundant mineral in the human body (Zhang et al., 2021). For a while, scientists have looked at how magnesium relates to sleep. Well, good news: in the aforementioned study, scientists took a deep dive into what magnesium could do for sleep. After doing an extensive study with thousands of participants, the scientists revealed that increasing magnesium intake significantly decreases the odds of the participant experiencing less than seven hours of sleep, and has the potential to give participants an easier experience falling asleep. This happens for a variety of reasons, from relaxed muscles to increased GABA receptor activation.

How does magnesium work with tryptophan?

Secondly, magnesium plays a big role in the Verisoma Goodnight Blend™. Dormyx™ features a collection of ingredients designed to promote falling and staying asleep. One of those key ingredients is tryptophan, an essential amino acid. However, tryptophan can only be metabolized in the presence of other supporting nutrients, one of which is magnesium. The presence of magnesium in Dormyx™ not only promotes falling and staying asleep but also allows for further activation of ingredients present in Dormyx™.

Magnesium: an essential mineral

If you live the sort of life where you often wish you had higher-quality sleep, magnesium could be the answer. As an essential mineral, it's the sort of thing you have to ingest, and the sort of thing that could revolutionize the way you sleep. From relaxing muscles, promoting GABA activity, or assisting in metabolizing tryptophan, magnesium may just be your key to a new world of long, restful sleep.
